slickolite

A vertically discontinuous slip-scratch surface made by slippage and shearing and developed on sharply dipping bedding planes of limestone that shapes the wall of a solution cavity. surface in a rock, commonly rich in insoluble material and of irregular shape, which differs from a stylo-lite in that teeth are oblique to the surface. Slickolites have a shear component and grade into slickensides and stylolites slip – displacement along a fault or crystallographic plane slip plane – crystallographic plane along which a dislocation can move.
