recovery

1. The rise in static water level in a well, occurring upon the cessation of discharge from that well or a nearby well. 2. General name for the processes in a crystal or crystal aggregate that lead to a decrease in the combined length of included dislocations, and rearrangement of dislocations into subgrain boundaries. The process of recovery is driven by a decrease in the internal free energy of a crystal or crystal aggregate. Processes of dynamic recrystallisation and GBAR are not included in recovery as described in this text. Recovery is also active during the process of static re-crystallisation
