ozonosphere

The general stratum of the upper atmosphere in which there is an appreciable ozone concentration and in which ozone plays an important part in the radiative balance of the atmosphere; lies roughly between 6 and 30 miles (10 and 50 kilometers), with maximum ozone concentration at about 12 to 15 miles (20 to 25 kilometers). Also known as ozone layer.
