asphaltite

Any of the dark-colored, solid, naturally occurring bitumens that are insoluble in water, but more or less completely soluble in carbon disulfide, benzol, and so on, with melting points between 250 and 600øF (121 and 316øC); examples are gilsonite and grahamite.
